This website has been created by a member of the Chorale to assist the bass section by providing access to rehearsal information and, where available, part files for learning works. The password for accessing the site has only been given to members of the bass section. The website has not been created by, and is not controlled by, the Chorale.
Where possible, for each work that forms part of a concert programme, there will be a page providing links to assist in purchasing a CD performance of the work, links to individual voice parts, and links to any other pertinent information, including YouTube performances by other choirs. You are encouraged to buy your own performed copy of the work and, where voice part files are available, to buy those as well. The performance tracks and voice part files linked to here are available for reference, so you know what you are getting, and to tide you over until your own purchased copies arrive. Please do not download these tracks for any other purpose than rehearsal and do not distribute them.
It is important for living composers, performers and music publishers to thrive so as to ensure that we in the Chorale have access to arrangements of classical works and a steady stream of new works to perform. Please, if you can afford to do so, buy recordings of the works we sing and rehearsal CDs of the voice parts to sing along to when practising at home! While we link to MP3 and MIDI files in these pages, at the top of every page for a work you should find a link that will take you to a composer's or publisher's web page from which you can buy your own copy of the work.
Although created for the bass section of the Chorale, it is anticipated that this might be of wider benefit to all voice parts and, in anticipation of this, for some works, where all voice parts are available, they have been linked to.
